Carb question

What brand of carburetor was standard on the first generation Rebel 250?
I am looking at a used one, in one of the pictures the seller sent me, the name "Keihin" is visible.

The first generation carb I have says Keihin, model number is VE 08DBYH2. The B is inside a box.

Keepin' all the left over parts. Gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Ok thanks, this one has a different number, but it sure looks like a Rebel carb.

I zoomed in on the numbers and the best I can tell in these pics it looks like "VE 183APC" the 3 is questionable, it could also be a "B" or "8".

It's an auction. I'm the high bidder at $24.50

The auction doesn't end until Monday, there have been 2 other bidders, so who knows, but with all that other stuff included I'm willing to go higher, not exactly sure how high though.

Same numbers as my 87 California model with charcoal canister
Except Last letters after the A in Box are A L and the squiggly line
Corresponds to VE18A designation in 85-87 oem shop manual for cali version...

VE08A as you can see was the other 49 states...

Is VE08A charcoal canister vacuum port just plugged or does it exist at all?
I couldn't tell you as I have VE18A version

I'd buy it in a heart beat. $75 may go a bit further

Interesting, they changed jets after '85, maybe the '85 ran too lean so they made it richer?
Either way I'm in on this auction, even if it is a California model, I'm sure if I rebuilt it, it would be better than the Chinese crap dual carb set up that I have now.

the Main jet was #135 in 1985 and went to #128 after thus 86 and 87.. I have a #128 in mine.. so the main jet got smaller while the slow jet stayed the same for all years it appears..

1996 main jet was #110 continuing through 2016
venturi size was increased 0.8 mm between 1st and 2nd generations
