Not that I'm advocating such foolishness (especially in light of my post above); but back when I was young and irresponsible, a few of us had some fun with this little gag. Did you know that if you take a long piece of toilet paper and twist it just enough, it looks just like a rope to an approaching vehicle at night.

simply design a official looking metal box with louvers on it from something like an old fusebox with tht lock on it. drill a hole in the front and mount a large peephole for a home door (looks like a camera lens) stencil some official looking "city property do not molest under penalty of law" type on the outside. screw an old coily antenna off of a fake carphone antenna to the top and mount it on a post next to your mailbox or at the end of your driveway. make a sign for underneath it that reads "speed enforced by photo-radar" or somesuch and relax.

I don't want a pickle, I just want to ride my motorsickle.
And I don't wanna die, i just wanna ride my
motorcy..
....cle.

would that constitute posing as law enforcement, a crime in many a place. How about just petitioning the city for the real deal?

I like little Daves idea.. I would just leave of the city ID thing, but you could probably still right the "speed enforced by photo radar" You have the right to actually give someone a ticket. Just has to actually come from a law enforcer and have to prove that they are deserve one.. Your not actually posing as anything.. suppose you had a high speed camera set up you could actually enforce speed that way by figuring out the math and determine there speed... sure we all seen mythbusters...lol

You can buy radar guns pretty cheap these days.

That is surprisingly inexpensive. I could probably get 80 bucks worth of entertainment out of that just sitting on my front lawn. 15-20 over the limit is fairly common on my road. It'd be fun to watch 'em hit the brakes coming over the rise.
