No bad, Lisa. We are a creative bunch, looking at something from all possible angles, including warp drives and wormholes. I just need some help making it work!

Since I may never get around to doing what I wanted to with the bike, I could probably donate my untitled '12 bike to the cause. The bodywork has been stripped for paint (black, and yes...I do have a front fender too) but it will be going back together as it originally was:

"Ride Safe, Chop Safer" Motorcycles are not unsafe. However; they are extremely unforgiving of inattention, incompetence, ignorance, and stupidity.
Dismantling, sawzalling, and rattle canning does not make a bobber.
Those are STEPS toward customizing, not customizing unto itself.

That is more than generous, Shadow Shack. Looks like I better get things going with the rest of the project.

Well that puts the shuttle out the window. While it was still operating, the price for payload was at best $10,000 per pound, (maximized load of lots of stuff), putting a rebel at 3-4 million. but it'd take many trillions to rehab a mothballed one.

SpaceX's Heavy Falcon is expected to get the cost down to maybe $7,900 per pound, still putting the rebel out at 2.5 million.
An alternative is the cubesat, which can be launched for $40,000. but it's limited to 10cm x 10cm x 10cm, and 1.33Kg in weight (2.9lbs), so we could maybe send up a chunk of OEM muffler someone bobbered off their project ride, or a carb, or a cdi....maybe a gas tank after compacting it in a crusher to meet the size limit....

Looks like I'll have to contact Elon Musk and see in he can be persuaded to let our Reb hitch a ride at a discount. It's worth a try. After all, this is the guy that launched a brand new car into orbit.

I tweeted to Elon Musk. No idea if he'll respond, but it's worth a shot.

Interesting. If we had a few acres of desert somewhere, and a long tube, it could be done. Any suggestions for a material to use to make the tube?

I just looked at Elon Musk's Twitter feed, and didn't see my post, let alone a reply.I must have done something wrong. I'll try again.
