Unfortunately, even if there is nothing wrong with your product, all it takes is one person with unrealistic expectations, and one lawyer with time on his or her hands to create a legal nightmare. Even if you ultimately win, You'll have to come up with cash to hire a lawyer to defend you. This is why so many accessories and related products are so expensive. The cost of the anticipated legal battle is built into the price.

That is exactly right.. and it does only take one to cause a world of frustration and hurt...

When I first decided to open up shop I hadn't thought about getting bonded and insured.. then I learned about legal liability and all and realized the only way to protect myself and assets was to go through all the hoopla and legal hoops...

We even had to change buildings from the original location we were looking at, because of the paint bay and chemicals and being close to residential houses and apartments.. besides the zoning and regulations.. I was also told, that a lawsuit could be brought by someone in the residential buildings.. if they want to say theirs or their childs breathing problems or illness is due in part to my paint booth...

So, we found a large warehouse for sale close enough yet far enough away from a residential area...

You can't step into the same flowing river twice....

I understand your points yoda, as I had an automotive repair shop, this is were the issue is if I install the part I can be held liable. If you install the part you are liable, 1 you may have installed it wrong, 2 you installed it at you own will, this is where I no longer have liability, and as you pointed out them ace controls on eBay go to the bottom of his ad and read " by buying you are agreeing to the following: we will not be held liabile for any damages or injurys". And when using eBay when you confirm your bid or purchase it states " by confirming you are enterng into a legal agreement.." the only reason mine are not on eBay is because I do not have Internet at home due to I live I bfe. so I us my iPhone and the app is messed up they forgOt to put the condition tap in. So once it's fix they will be there and when people buy them they will be liable not me, I just put them up here because a few People wanted them, I'm not a vendor nor a business I in missouri if you make more the $1000 dollars a month profit you must get a buisness permit, and be bOnded and insured, as I am selling these barley ove what it cost to make them I don't think I'll be making that much profit.

So can we please drop it it's getting old and I'm here to help hav a good time and learn. Not argue or fight with People. Thanks

So what ever happened to this? It seems like everyone kept shoving advice down this dudes throat and telling Him what He needs to do and it pissed Him off so He gave up on helping everyone out. I've been there and I know how it feels and it's super frustrating getting ganged up on like that so I don't blame the guy at all.

But someone with the resources needs to step up! Why don't we do a fundraiser or all throw in for a group buy? Like a Kickstarter or gofundme kind of thing.

I know it's bad form to post up in an old thread like this but it was already the first result with a Google search so no harm was done.

Now it's even older. But if anyone is looking for forward controls, go to Blue Collar Bobbers They have a kit that relocates the stock pegs and controls about 6" forward. I'm about to order one. On my last Rebel, I made my own extensions, BCB did basically the same thing I did, but theirs looks a lot nicer. I'm 6', and the rebel is a bit cramped for me.
