Guys, it seems that, even if I lived in Sahara desert, some kind of moving cactus would break my turn signals

They are designed to bend and break to save the rest of the signal. I don't know if there is a more solid replacement available on the market, maybe some of the chinese knock-offs are made with a cheaper and stiffer plastic.
Since numerous beginners have dropped my Rebel over the years, I sure am glad that it has rubber mounted turn signals. Just pick it up, and they pop back out. Walk around it to make sure there are no other issues, check that the only thing injured on the rider is their pride, crank it back up, provide some advice and encouragement, and send them off for another go. Great bike.
