neutral light

I got a issue with my neutral light. It stays on even though i shift out of neutral. I checked the wiring and everything seems to be connected right.

Is there anything else i could be missing? Or if someone knows a solution that would be helpful.

It is in fine shape. it was working fine before but suddenly it it wouldn't turn off.

Where exactly is the neutral safety switch located? I have the same problem on my bike. The green neutral light stays on 100% of the time when the key is on.

Mine is a 1997 rebel. It's got some custom work, so I'm not sure where to begin looking.

The switch itself is under the left hand engine cover, behind the flywheel, starter clutch and the plate behind them but here is a pic of where it is with all that removed.

You can test it without taking everything apart.
It may be that the green and red wire is grounded somewhere. That would leave the light on all the time.

Ok... How do you test it without taking the switch out?
