Then there is clearance issues as well and selecting an approriate belt.

I would do a search on the CM250C's (microfiche maybe) and think if you could round any of these parts then you would have a good starting point.

Hope this helps.

OK, I've done the homework and it is the 83 CM250C's that had the optional belt drive. It appears this would be the way to go if the parts are still available. The only other consideration I can think of is you may have to pull the swing arm to install the belt unless I'm missing something.

Good luck...
Thanks for the effort Gearbanger! Might be the way to go for you guys looking to do this!

I also did some research on the CM250's setup. The front drive pulley does look like it would bolt right on the Rebel's engine. The rear wheel of the CM250 is a 16 inch and the Rebel is 15 inch, so don't know how that would work out. The swingarms on the two bikes are somewhat different. The shocks mount differently. Would be great if the CM250 would bolt right on a Rebel and the alignment would be perfect but the only way to know is actually do it. That could be very expensive if you had to buy the parts new.
As far as belt drives go and the main complaint being rocks or gravel getting between them and the pulley, why aren't belt drives completely enclosed? It seems to me that this would eliminate any problems of foreign objects.

I've been really busy lately, but I haven't forgotten about this. I plan to make a trip to the bone yard soon to see what I can dig up. I'll update on what I find.

I have now bought the front and rear belt-"sprockets" from an 83 CM250C.
Allso the chainguard from an 82 CM250C. Its the same if its for chain or belt drive.
Its gona take some time to get here tho.
So I still got some questions.
Is the swingarm of the CM250C longer/shorter then my rebels?
Just to know if I can use the belt from an CM250C.
And this part:

The one marked with the number 4.
In the list its call'd: PROTECTOR, DRIVE BELT
Where on the swingarm does it go? And what is its fungtion?

Belts are the issue. If you can find new ones in the right size. Plus the cost invloved.
It'd be a great idea, just to hard to pull off.

I just checked the fit of the front pulley...

Looks like I need more parts from a CM250C..
This was tested on my 125 engine. I guess the 250's is the same.
And like bB2NER said, its hard to find a belt for it.
Anyone got one to sell?
