Are you planning to take your Rebel down to the Blue Ridge Parkway EUS? That's a long but great ride. The whole area around the Smokey Mountains is motorcycle heaven. A buddy of mine toured there two years ago including Deal"s Gap. 318 turns in 11 miles! I may get brave and do that this summer. Long way from Brampton Ontario but should be fun. Good thing the Rebel gets great milage. I'm averaging 92mpg/ US78mpg. Go for a day ride and put in $6 worth of gas, cheap fun.

Hey Oldem from Brampton. Its great to know another Rebel Rider in Canada. I have been on the YouTube Deals Gap, Tail of the Dragon website. I think I would have to take it quite slow. I am quite new to riding have done about 560 Kilometers this season so far. I am quite comfortable in traffic and do ride to work when the weather permits. And I did fill my Rebel today $5.40 worth of Gas. Nice. I would love to go further than Burlington. Let me know if you go and make sure you take pictures to post here. I would love to see a photo of your bike.

You will probably get more responses if you repost this question under the Rebel Room or Wrenching areas of the forum. When you do, give us some information about your bike. What year, model (250 or 450) how many miles, are you the first owner, who has worked on your bike, was anything done to it recently, etc., how it was acting before the problem came up, is the exhaust stock or has it been modified or replaced with aftermarket pipes, and anything else you think might be helpful.
Off the top of my head, hot pipes sounds like an obstruction or extremely lean condition, but this is outside my area of expertise.

Hey, Welcome teabagsnow, Why we are only about twenty minutes from each other. What year is you Rebel? What color? Have you been riding long? Bummer about the weather today, tomorrow is supposed to be banner. I am heading to Paris Ontario to the classic MC swap meet and show. Lots of bikes to look at. Welcome to the fourm if you have any questions anytime there are some riders here that are very knowledgable about Rebels and bikes in General I have learned a lot on this forum.

I'm in Brampton but I do a lot of riding in the Halton Hills area. Have you been at Rattlesnake Point and the roads around Campbellville? How about the Forks of the Credit Road? I don't see may Rebels in my area which is strange because my dealer told me he sold twenty of them last year. Since the price of gas topped a buck a litre the little bikes are flying off the lots.

I may be riding there next Saturday, if the weather holds out. You know the kind of summer we've had so far. Check out this web site for rides in Ontario. http://bikeroads.atspace.com
I rode out to Port Elgin last week, what a great time! Went through Beaver Valley on Grey Route 13 and there wasn't another soul on the road. I rode the Miramichi Bay Road, it's like the Pacific Coast Highway in California only shorter. With the bike loaded down with luggage (more than I needed) it still turned in 96.91 mpg (Imp), 2.9 litres per 100 km. The trip was 456.6 km and it used 13.3 litres of Sunoco 94. It just kills me, all this fun and the mileage of a scooter.
