AZ/CA/NV/UT Meet & Greet?

I metinoned in the NV/UT thread about the possibility of a four state meet & greet.

Let's throw out some locations.

If it's Vegas, I can host one and get some cut rates on the rooms where I work (at least I could back when the economy was better, the rates are pretty cut as it is these days LOL).

Rural NV...well there's not a whole helluva lot to see but I've been to Ely a couple times. Nothing touristy there, although the Ghost Train ride is kind of cool and the town is in the vicinity of the Extraterestrial Highway that overlooks Area 51 in the distance (near Rachel NV). Granted either locale can be accessed via Vegas in one or two tanks of gas.

AZ...maybe a ride down Route 66 out of Flagstaff? I have fond childhood memories of Twin Arrows (used to be a restaraunt/gas station back in the hey day).

UT, something around Zion National Park?

CA...Baker and Barstow are what I'm familiar with, it's been ages since I went further west (LA/San Diego) but certainly doable.

At least that's what I'm somewhat familiar with (somewhat meaning the towns I don't live in). Yay/Nay/other suggestions?

I'm down for a rally in CA! I think most of the CA riders are further west than Baker or Barstow. Maybe a Pacific Coast Highway ride? I've driven down PCH from San Fransisco to San Diego and it's a beautiful drive, it'd be even better on a bike.

My stock 96 seat gets to me after my 8 mile commute to work...I do have a reupholstered seat from my 85 that's more comfy.

Make sure you excise that metal plate at the tailbone portion of the drivers seat when you reupholster it.

I'd ultimately like to redo my 96 seat. While my redone 85 seat is easier on the tush, it's also more narrow. So it's either cheeks half off and comfy or cheeks supported yet stiff & sore...

How far can you ride a Rebel? I just got back from Phoenix. Simi Valley, CA to Phoenix 410 miles. A heavily padded seat helps a lot. A great ride. This was the seventh time in the past year I've done it.

As far as your butt holds up

Don't forget to change the oil every so often.

From PHX. Would love to do a west coast ride since I haven't been out that way before. It's 6 hours to SD. Gel riding seat from RIDE NOW works great. I don't start feeling the pain until I have rode for about 3 hours. They are pretty cheap and they have different fits for every bike.
