BTW, what is the typical day/night weather/temps for that area this time of year?

Looks like this week lows of 62-67 and highs of 73-78 for Traverse City area. I like that not too hot not to cold.

lolz, yeah...and the further out they predict, the less accurate it is. Yesterday, the 10-day forecast for the area said there was a 60% chance of thunderstorms next Saturday, so I ordered a bunch of rain gear for the trip. Today, it says sunny and 81/66 with a 0% chance of rain all weekend.

I hope this revised forecast stays like that--perfect riding weather, and I won't be disappointed if I don't get to use my rain gear. It will come in handy some time.

I have rain gear too. If it is a drizzle and not too cold it will be alright. The bridge we will have to see? It can get really windy on the bridge and we may want to see what happens? I have gone across with the bike and it was not to bad going over, but when we returned back across it had gotten even more windy. I could feel the wind pushing me sideways, and sometimes you don't have a choice on using the outside lane if they are working on the bridge. I have a small amount of weight difference with the 450 but trust me if it is too windy I would be concerned.

Yeah, I have to admit I was a bit nervous about riding the Big Mac until I realized it's only about 1,000 feet longer than the Ambassador Bridge, which I had no trouble with when I went over last summer. It was really cool, actually: I was heading east into Canada and was about 45 minutes behind a big thunderstorm that had moved through the area. When I got to the peak of the bridge, I could see the storm way off in the distance--a very interesting sight!

But I also remember the news many years ago when a Yugo got blown off the Big Mac, so your point is well taken. I think we should probably get off I-75 at the last exit before the bridge, gauge the weather, and then decide as a group if we want to cross.

Plans for Friday?

A friend has asked me what was going on this weekend, What time everyone is meeting, etc?

I take it we are meeting at the campground around diner time. I may be there earlier, I am not sure what time we are leaving the house though.

WBY- I am meeting a friend in Paris (North of Big Rapids) I dont know what time; therefore I am not sure what time I can meet up with you. I was originally figuring on heading out in the morning.

I'd like to get there as early as possible. However, since I have such a long ride it'll probably be suppertime or later.

Oneway, how many miles are you going to be traveling from Paris? Let me know what time you are leaving and guess of how long (miles) you will travel to there? I am maybe 40-45 minutes from there. I have a friend who lives in Paris also they have a Goldwing. Do you know where Paris Park is? It is a campground, fish hatchery, playground. and picnic area. My son and I could meet you guys there? I figure people will be arriving at different times and maybe we should just meet for a group campfire BYO food and drinks. We plan on picking up hotdogs to do over the fire Friday. That way when you arrive you arrive no over planning then. We can decide specifics around the campfire.

Dan and I will be arriving no later than 6 pm--possibly much earlier. We'll be bringing a propane grill, too. Look forward to meeting all of you.
