Shock adjustment?
Ok so yesterday I mounted the hard bags I ordered. They look great; although now on major bumps the bag brackets hit the sway bar.
So my shocks have 1 through 5 adjustments on them. What is the firmest setting? 1? or 5? Just curious they all seem to feel the same to me.
Thanks

1 = soft
5 = firm

Right from the factory
#2 is for a 150 pound rider
#3 for 200 pounds
#4 for 250 pounds
#5 for 300 pounds
As the shocks get a little worn in you might have to take that into consideration on adjustment.

Weak Jounce
Thanks!
The numbering system is what I thought it should be. I now know I may have worn out shocks. I went up to 4 and they seem very soft. I have lots of travel with the swing arm. I will bump it up to 5 today and check into new shocks.
I don't get the usual continous bounce that you do when automotive shocks are bad; but it is like its not firm on the Jounce travel. (upward wheel movement)
After all it is 25 years old, shocks can probably go bad sitting.
Sorry everyone, I don't know why it posted twice.

This is probably obvious but make sure you replace one side at a time.
