Oil filter screen cleaning
I removed the bolts of the right side crank case cover. But its not coming out. Do we need to remove anything else to take it out. I read in the manual that we need to remove the right side exhaust system. If so, where are the bolts to remove?

To remove the exhaust; you have two nuts located at the point where the pipe connects to the exhaust port of the cylinder head (be careful when removing the collar beneath the flange plate, it can break easily), two nuts on the back side of the muffler bracket, and a clamp at the center of the crossover section of the exhaust located underneath the bike. That should get the pipe off. When taking the exhaust apart, you may want to look into replacing the gasket for the joint in the crossover pipe. I didn't do it on my bike when I put the pipes back on and it leaked like crazy. So I had to take it back down and replace it anyway.

I removed the right side crank cover without taking out the exhaust. I replaced the oil filter screen and changed the gasket of the crank cover. Everything went fine. but finally I got disappointed as when I put some gas in the tank, the gas started leaking out from the carburetor. I was not able to stop the leak. I dont know what to do. Help me if you know anything about this.

Did you rebuild the carb? What year model and engine size do you have? Did you turn the petcock to off? Did that stop the leak eventually?

Yes, I built the carb. Its a 1986 Honda Rebel 250. I turned off the petcock, and the oil flow continued, then I removed the fuel line from petcock to the carb. After removing the fuel line from petcock to carb, the leak got stopped. I thought there is some problem with the petcock. I opened the petcock and I found that there is no filter set. Do you think this is the problem or someone said that there might be some problem with gasket, float valve. I dont know what to do. Suggest me something.

As mentioned by others, sounds like the float may be stuck. If you haven't already installed an inline filter (between tank and carbs), do so. On a bike that old, there is usually some rust in the tank. It will keep any contaminants in tank from reaching the carbs and messing them up. I like the clear kind that allows you to see what is being trapped by the filter. If you are extremely lucky (I'm not) try tapping lightly on the carb with the handle of a screwdriver before and after reconnecting the fuel line, and opening the petcock. It might free the float. Otherwise, you'll have to open up the carb and fix it. If the problem persists, may need to replace the float and associated parts. More than likely, the reason the leak continued after shutting off the petcock was it took time for fuel in the line to drain through the stuck float. To check it, disconnect the fuel line from the petcock and make sure the petcock doesn't leak fuel when it s turned to the OFF position. Good luck!

I like the kind of fuel filter that you can remove the element and clean it. Having this option while out on the road is a bonus if you need it. Here is a pic of the one I have installed:

Like everyone said, the float is stuck. I had the same problem when I rebuilt my carb. The little pin that holds the float on slid part of the way out. That let the float get cocked sideways. Which is letting the fuel freeflow into the carb. You said there is no filter set. If you are talking about the one that goes inside the tank over the petcock stem, that really needs to be there. I bought a new tank for my bike. The old screen was stuck inside the old tank. So I figured i'd just leave it out and run with the inline filter. That caused the petcock to leak. Once I finally got the screen out of the old tank and installed it in the new one, everything was fine.
