earlbear,

it would all depend on what sort of skills, tools and ambition you have. making saddlebag supports can be as simple as getting some bar stock, drilling holes and mounting to the fender strut. You want to get more elaborate, we can get some round stock, bend it, weld tubing and mount to the fender struts. Even further you could go the route I did and build removable/lockable mounts out of various materials.

What are you looking to do?

saddlebag support

I made mine from a chrome lid rack from the housewares dept at the Wally. $4.00! @#$% that $100.00 stuff. It looked something like this. WalMart does not have an image on line so I found something similar. Cut off the rack part and sandwich in between the sissy bar rail and the rear fender support. Oops, you need a sissy bar for this to work. Bend to suit. Works great on willie & max compact slant bags. The wire is suprisingly heavy duty, plus it's already chromed.

If you don't have a sissy bar, you could get some aluminum flat stock (available at hardware store, Home Depot, etc.) drill it to match the holes in the rails and sandwich the chrome rack between it and the fender rail. Could polish it to give it a good shine. Cagie has a great post on polishing aluminum.
