In Fact you should probably just get used to it. I wouldnt be suprised what we turn this into. I have the hardest time keeping track of where my last topic was sometimes cus it had nothing to do with the title.

Who said deer are intelligent!? They have highly developed senses, and can run fast and long, but that doesn't necessarily mean they can think their way out of a paper sack! Guba's experience and yours demonstrate rather graphicallly that they don't often do what is clearly in their best interest. Beware of all animals when riding, especially the two legged ones without feathers!

Well, I have to say that while I've encountered more people doing stupid things, the percentage of deer creating hazards is higher than it is for people. So my assessment is that most people are smarter than deer. However, I have met quite a few (people that is) on the road that I would gladly have blown to smithereens if it were legal.

I live up in the mountains and people hit deer all the time. They have run in front of me, but I always have been able to brake in time. I have never heard of a motorcycle hitting one though.
Well, anyone ever run over a skunk?

Does a dead one count? If so then yeah... being an air head sometimes, I was following this truck down the river road in the center of the lane. truck rolls over a dead 'kitty' and I flat didn't react in time to avoid it totally, caught the edge of the mess and threw stinky all over me.
In ND we have these little 9 banded ground squirrels which we called Dak Rats. They are everywhere, more prolific than rabbits I think. You can tell it's spring by the numbers of carcasses lining the road. One particular day, our club was riding tp a function, about twenty bikes, two abreast. dumb little Dak Rat runs out in the middle of the road. freaking out he makes a dash for one side then the other, stuck in the middle. I was about halfway back watching this, as I got closer I realized this little weazel was gunning for my side, leaps into the air and lands on my foot. I was quite startled and kicked. poor little sucker flew from my bike to my buddies bike, who flicked him off. I looked in the rear view only to see him rolling down the middle of the road like a hockey puck.
Same trip I caught a starling with the front fender, split that sucker into a million pieces, feathers flying, blood and guts all over me. Musta been payback by the ghost of the DakRat hockey puck
