i love it too. great little bike. cheap on gas and insurance and everything. go anywhere i need it to, and i have fun doing it. plus, its one of the smaller bikes that has alot of aftermarket parts available.

If I could only have 1 motorcycle, the Rebel is the one I would have!

The only problem I have/had with the Rebel is lack of legroom for full size guys. I fixed that for highway use (which is where I mostly ride anyway) with highway pegs, but it is still an issue in town. The only way I know of to fix that is forward controls, but at around $600, that ain't happenin. Otherwise the Rebel suits me just as well as a larger bike, and is actually better in some ways. And it IS big enough to cross the country on, if that is what you want to do. Back in the 60s, 250cc was a respectable size bike.
However, as much as I love the Rebel, If I could only have one bike, it would have to be my Kawasaki Vulcan 750. At one point, it was my only bike. Despite it's much larger displacement, it is not a huge, hard to handle bike, and it is without question the most comfortable street bike I've ever ridden, even topping my '84 Goldwing. Jerry.

I took care of my legroom issue with floor boards from MC Enterprises. I'm 5'10" and used to get cramps after a couple of hours riding. Not any more though.

Those and the matching rockershifter are next on my wish list. About 350 for the set last time I looked.

350?! I bought mine last summer for 285 through Jack's. And that's with the heel toe shifter. I can't believe it went up in price that much since then. Maybe I should've bought more as an investment. lol.

I saw it at a FLIBS. Don't recall which one. I will order from Jack when the time comes. I was wondering about how it is in terms of dragging. I was told they ride about an inch lower than pegs. Any problems?

While down at the local cycle shop a couple weeks ago I sat on a new Rebel and decided it's definitely too small for my 6'2" body with 34" inseam. The Suzuki GZ250 frame that my clone has fits me much better. My 79 Goldwing was also too cramped but raising the seat 2" and removing the hump so I could slide back helped a lot.
If I could have only one bike though it would be a small dual sport. Being able to ride off road as well as on road is important to me.
