Reserve switch (1985 Honda Rebel 250)

I think I have been riding with my gas valve in reserve since I had my bike (one month).

Can anyone who has a 1985 Rebel 250 tell me if the gas valve switch works this way?

Six o'clock : Off
Nine o'clock : On
Twelve o'clock : Reserve ???

If so, could I have done any damage over the 30 days riding that way?

Mary

no I wont hurt it to ride like that, although if you run out of gas, you are walking it!

Thanks guys. My husband came home and got a bright light and shined it on the thing. Its an old bike and a little rusty. I obviously was reading everything on the left (long handle) and not the arrow which points on the right.

I have been running in the 'on' positioin (12 o'clock) okay but apparently have been parking it in reserve (6 o'clock).

'Off' is 3 o'clock. Got it now.~
