Follow the maintenance schedule in the owners manual, or if you don't have one of those, get a Clymer service manual. It is way better than the owners manual. Keep it inside, out of the weather, and don't crash it. That's about it. Enjoy it. Jerry.

Welcome. It is just a matter of maintenance on the bike. Be sure to check the tire pressure if the bike has set any amount of time. I check the tire pressure and all the fluids almost every time I take my 450 out. It is a good habit to get in.
A friend of mine came over with his Dyna glide and was asking why the bike was mushy in the corners, checked the tire pressure and he was down 18lbs in each tire. He rides all the time but doesn't take the time to check things. hope he will check things now.
Ride safe and enjoy your bike.
keep the rubber side down
and the shinny side up

If you don't know when the oil was changed, go ahead and change it. Ditto on the valve adjustment. There is a procedure posted here on the forum.

Congrats on your new aquisition, it's a lot of fun! The Reb is pretty easy to take care of for any do-it-your-selfer. If you encounter any problems we're here for you!

Hit the local FLIBS (friendly local independant bike shop) and pick up some oil, spark plugs, chain lube, cable lube, and a cable lube adapter.
Even if you do know when the last service was, service it anyways. That way you know for sure you have the right oil in the crankcase. Then throw in the fresh set of plugs while you're at it too.
Inspect/lube the chain, lubes are best done after a ride while the bike is warm. Let the lube cure overnight for minimal sling on the next ride.
Slip the adapter onto each of your cables and shoot a liberal amount of lube into them. Also grease the fittings if possible. Check your tire pressure and all your lights and you're good to go.
Oh yeah, pick up a 1/4" fuel filter and splice it into the fuel line.
