Factory saddlebag install?
Hey everyone! I got a "new" used 1987 Rebel earlier this year. I know this sounds crazy but, my hubby removed the factory saddlebags and now I have absolutely no idea how to put them back on. They are a heavy nylon fabric material with the Honda "wings" on each side. Can anyone direct me to a place to get ideas on how to put these back on so I can use my Rebel to get to work. (I need the bags for my all my truck driving stuff.)

Don't think they are factory. Someone bought some aftermarket with the Honda logo. Could you post a picture of your bike and the bags so we can get a better idea of the mounting system?

I uploaded a few pics. As I am new to this, I hope I put them in the right place.

You did good! Those are just throw over the back seat bags. The velcro goes towards the front and wrap around the shock and the ties on the back go around the turn signal stems.
Those are pretty floppy looking. At some point you might invest in some saddle bag brackets just as a little insurance to keep them from getting into the wheel.

My leather bags have holes rubbed in the back. So I would also suggest bag brackets. I don't have them because my bike came that way used. But it is on my list (the ever so growing list. )
