The stock battery on my '04 was on it's last legs when I bought it in '09, I replaced it with a WestCo AGM (my favorite motorcycle battery) and it has worked fine since. I also use a Deltran Battery Tender Jr. to keep the battery up to full charge. I found the Rebels charging system is so weak that idling it will actually discharge the battery. If the new battery does not solve the problem, check all connections, especially at the battery and main fuse, if it still has problems you probably do have a problem with the charging system.
