dented gas tank

I have a 2006 rebel and 2 perfect round dents in the tank from the front turn signals. 2 different slow drop incidents, Dang!
Can they be popped out or repaired cheaply or should I just get a new tank? Where can I get a good deal on one if need be?

Depending on how bad they are, there are several ways to try to pop them out. If they aren't leaking, you could also consider filling them and repainting the tank.

You could drain and remove the tank. Position the tank so the dent is horizontal then put some dry ice (wear thick gloves, it will freeze your skin) in the dents. This is how they do "paintless hail repair". If the dents are too deep, it probably won't pull them out, at least not all the way. May want to consider relocating those turn signals so it doesn't happen again.

Could you give some idea of how the turn signals might be relocated? Or does it involve buying DIFFERENT trun signals?

Those dents in the gas tank really bothers me. Most of the used Rebels I looked at had them! If I take a fall on my Rebel I don't want those dents, which seem like a sure thing with the signals as they are stock.

I did it like this-

I spent about twenty five bucks on lights and clamps. I tried to figure out a way to use the stock signals, but the clamps only fit one way. If you move them, the screw that keeps them from rotating would have no where to go other than into plastic, and I didn't like that idea.

Fridge, where did the clamps come from? Part of a kit?

No, I bought them at a FLIBS. They were about eight bucks, I think. Next time I'm there, I'll get the name of the manufacturer.

I have a few more pix I can post later tonight. I'll have to go back to the shop to get the specifics on the parts.
