Unhappy Carbs

I am new to this motorcycle forum , so please if i am not doing somthing right let me know so i can cgange it thanks.

I have a 87 honda rebel 450 sitting in the garage for about 4 weeks now. I have had it for about 2 years, i really love this bike for one its my first and second its really really fun to ride. four weeks ago i went to ajust the air fuel mixer screw and it broke off at the housing not the screw in piece but part off the housing on the carb its self were the screw goes up into that little pice of the housing dont ask me how couse i have no idea how, the only thing i can thank of is it was already craked there in the first ploace, but any way i am looking to buy new carbs for it. does any one know of a great place to buy them. I have looked at a lot of diffrent site and i can find them from $ 450 to $850 for a set of new carbs. thank u for helping. PS im thinking of selling the bike after i get the carbs fixed. What would a resenobul price be for this bike. I think its got about or close to 19000 on it.

Welcome to the forum, and sorry about the carb.

Your best first step would be to go to call Jack at Jacks Rebel Warehouse. He can probably fix you up with what you need: 407 865 4101. Tell him which Rebel you have, 250 or 450, and what you need.

If that doesn't work out, try craigslist.com, google motorcycle salvage, or look here http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trk...All-Categories

Do you have the 450? They have duel carbs. There are a few carbs for sale for the 450 on ebay. Have you taken the carbs off to see if you can get the screw out? Maybe I can help with getting a new screw or something. I have done a lot of work on 450 rebels.

Ride safe

The screw is out. what broke off imagin looking at the carbs while there still on the bike, if u look to the front part of the carb on the bottom the peice that hangs down that is part of the carb that the screw goes in to that piece brok off. i will try and get a pic. but hopefuly i will have them fixed in a couple of weeks. found some new carbs for a round 425 for both , just hope there already senke. and i have already tried jacks rebel house did not have any at this time. Thank u for ansering me, and welcoming me to the furom.

They may be close, but you will probably still need to synchronize them. You can make a carb synchronizer that is more accurate than the ones they sell in stores for less than $5. Just google homemade carb synchronizer and you should get a materials list, pictures, and instructions.
