CDI Wiring Question

Hey all, new here and new to Hondas aswell. I had a cmx250 engine placed on me, an 86 model, and all I had was the engine and no wiring except what comes from the stator/ign. signal coil. Ive gotten ahold of the plug wires/coil packs and a CDI unit. From what Ive read I have everything to make it run minus the fact I dont know which wires go where on the CDI unit. Ive gotten a basic idea form the wiring diagram here but it doesnt explain what outlets/inlets on the CDI box itself go to. If anyone here can explain where each of these 6 poles go to that would be much appreciated so I can get this engine running because this is all Im lacking.

Thanks in advance,

RamRod

The CDI has two plug sockets, one is 4 wire (yellow/black, green, blue/yellow, yellow/black) and a two wire (red/brown, black/white)

yellow/black goes to coil positives
red/brown goes to stator
blue yellow to stator p/u coil
blackwhite to kill/ignition

But what order do they go in? All I have is the CDI box, plug wires/coil packs, and the wires from the stator/ignition signal coil. I have no wiring harness, fuse boxes, none of that, Im wiring this all in myself and just running the motor, no electronics (lights, signals, horn, ect.) All I need to know is which port does what on the CDI box itself. Which ports go to the coil, which port is the ground, which one recieves the signal from the ign. signal coil, which one is the ignition wire (im supposing this is the one that connected to the run/stop button, however it is Rebels are wired).

Is there any chance someone could please go out and look at there 250 CDI unit and tell me what color of wire comes out of each port? I know the 2 wire port is for ignition on/off, and the 4 wire port is your 2 coil positives, a ground, and a signal wire from the stator area, but I just need to know what wire goes were on the CDI itself.

Don't think I can help you. All models since 1991 have a slightly different ignition system. Mine is a 2001, so the wiring may be different.

It's not quiet as simple as just looking at it. Most will have to remove the seat and tank to get to the unit. If I have to remove the tank I will take a look. otherowse someone else with a classic model that happens to have the tank off may be able to help.

Cool man, that would be awesome if you could tell me whats really goin on here, Im used to Hayabusa and what not which is a completely different world. I just need to know what color wire goes into which port on the CDI, even a picture of the CDI with the harness plugged in showing the wire colors would be awesome.

Thanks in advance dude.

If he doesn't get to it, I now have occasion to take my tank off to replace a speedometer (wiring...) It hasn't arrived yet, but as soon as it gets here I will make sure to get you a picture, sorry for the delay...
