Petcock question
Inherited the bike from my twin brother, hadn't been started for 15 years or so.
Playing it safe I sprayed Stabil(oil) into each cylinder, let it sit for a week. Take it to a certified HONDA shop. They go through it front to back, Good to go.($600 bucks, I know, I know!)Made the mistake of thinking down on the p-cock is on, but no, that is reserve. Bottom line is on run, it won't run. On reserve it runs all day, until I'm out of gas 5 miles from home, any thoughts other than taking it back to this "certified" shop.

Pull the petcock off and clean out the tube.
The valve chooses between a tube that is raised for on and the bottom of the tank for reserve.

Turn it to what you think is OFF and see if it runs.

The reason you are running on reserve is there are two openings. The 'main' opening has a tube that runs a couple of inches into the tank. The reserve opening is 'flush' with the bottom of the tank, hence the 'extra' fuel. Most likely the top tube is either plugged or bent.
It's a simple matter to take the petcock off and check the tube. If it is clear then you might have a blocked valve inside the petcock itself. In that case, just replace.
While you're in there check and clean the screen. Be careful pulling it out as it is flimsy. I've had success using a pair of neddlenose and gently pulling it out.
