handelbar removal

hi i have a 87 250 and my handelbars have a strange nut that holds them onto the risers...i want to put drag bars on but i don know how to remove the old ones. if ne one can help that would be awsome.

There are caps on the four bolts that hold the clamps on, at least from the factory there are. If you pry off the caps, you'll find Allen head bolts underneath.

thanks kinda blew my mind after i found there was a small crack and pryed it off with my knife.....and thank you ive had my rebel about six munths and i drive it everyday rain or shine....it hasent let me down

I ride mine everyday unless rain. Its raining right now I got mine from a guy who had two he bought from a couple that moved away. I think I got the wifes bike, I had to raise them up but, it seems now that they are kinda offset and I can't get them straight. I plan to get some apes soon. And some Jardines.......
