Exhaust

Anybody know the end result of taking a half inch drill to the exhaust pipe? sound good or bad? friend did it to his HD and it sounded good.

There have been many discussions here about modifying the exhaust to get a deeper, or more 'big bike ' sound. Some have been happy with the results; others have not. A look in "Search" will list plenty of them. Some will make the sound louder, some will make it deeper, but there are limits to what you can do with the sound you start with.

Big difference between a big twin and the Rebel is the stroke. You will never get the deep sound at speed from the Rebel no matter what you do. Why do I say t speed? It's because at proper operating RPMs the Rebel will sound like, well like the Rebel.

I have a set of Jardines that I just put on because my stock pipes had finlly been easten by the rust cancer. It has a deep rumble at idle RPMs. It's loud. So loud in fact that I am going to have to figure out a way to quiet them down.
