Complete n00b problem!
Hi guys,
Used your forum before to sort a couple of niggles with my Rebel but now Im in real trouble.
I had an accident on my 1996 CA125 S Rebel and it came down pretty hard on its left side (as did I!).
There are scrapes up the side and a dent in the tank from the indicator (which has fallen off) and the gear lever is bent.
Main problem however: Power is working (lights come on) and battery is fully charged (using a seperate charger), kill switch is set to run but when I press the ignition, Nothing happens. Not even a sound - no ticking over or trying. Also it doesnt seem to want to change gear. Clutch fully pulled in and the lever just moves freely each way - no sound of normal gear change or anything other than useless lever sound!
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! Really wanna get back out there on my bike!
Jay

Welcome to the club! Currently having the same problem for the same reason on my Vulcan. After you check the fuses;
1. Check the clutch safety switch to be sure it is operating properly.
2. Check connections in harness to be sure nothing has been pulled loose.
3. Check starter switch. Open it up and ensure solder joints are OK.
It's something in the electrical system that has come loose. Maybe someone with more electrical knowledge can tell you what contact to check with a volt meter. Good luck!

Sorry to hear you both went down.
Check to see if the clutch wires are plugged in.
Since it came down on the left side, check to make sure the kick(side)stand is okay. Check the side stand switch.
If I had to put money on it, I'de say it has to do with the shift lever being bent and not "feeling" like it's shifting. The nuetral switch isn't being made.
I think there's some damage inside you need to look for.

Well, to clarify, the bike went down, but I didn't. Low speed attempted left U-turn on dirt road, engine died, got my foot down, tried to keep it up but couldn't. If I hadn't fought so hard to keep her up, probably wouldn't have had the problem. Lesson learned; ease her down and don't use bars to lift her back!

One of many things I need to check. Unfortunately, I hate electronic stuff and looking at wiring diagrams gives me headaches and major frustration!

The kick stand switch will shut down the engine unless the bike is in nuetral. I don't know the extent of the damage, so I listed it as something to look for.

Check your fuses. An open wire could have shorted your system and blown a fuse.

Cheers for all the help guys. Ive had a look and tried your suggestions but to no avail so I have made a short video going over the bike quickly pointing out whats wrong and whats happening. I would be grateful if you could have a quick watch and give me any pointers!!!
