I'd pull that hose down along side the rest of the hoses.

When you feel confident enough you can adjust your own cylinder head valves. It's not that hard, just needs more tools and more time. There's excellent instructions for it here on the site, and if you have a question, you have a whole bunch of people here ready to assist.

all of the above posts have some valid suggestions but I wonder how you're checking those plugs? These engines will produce a wet plug when you shut off the engine and the only real way to check for proper plug burn is to chop the engine and check then. Mine has always looked slightly dirty at normal stut down, and clean tan when chopped. has never effected performance at all.

plugs aren't wet, just black (carbon?) after 80 or so miles..
