Yes, plugs that aren't properly seated would lead to poor compression, poor ignition, and fouled plugs. You want to make sure that isn't a problem right off.

Are the air filters stock, and are they clean?

I'm thinking that It might be good to point out that using a vacuum cleaner hose on a cylinder without a spark plug in place is not a good idea.

Can one of you tell me which part # the puke tube is on the diagram that flite posted?

Also, the carb float bowl vent that soul mentioned?

Not sure if the jets were checked for proper size when they cleaned the carb... at this point I'm not sure they did much of anything to the bike!

Thanks for the input!!
BTW, do any of you have a recommendation for a South Florida Honda bike mechanic?

You can recoginize the puke tube easy enough. It'll be the hose in the cluster of hoses that has a plug on the end of it at the bottom. When you pull the plug off, you'll have some liquid draining off. That's normal. It should be drained at every oil change.

Carb float bowl vent hose follows the same route as the puke tube. If you see some liquid on the end of the hose, wipe it with your finger and smell. If it's gasoline, then it could be as Soul Searcher mentioned.

I'm pretty sure you have stock jets. It's not something you change on a regular basis like oil and air filter.

Nothing specific. I would look for an independent shop (no dealerships, including Honda) that works on a variety of bikes. Go online and see if there are any complaints filed against them with the Better Business Bureau. If none, talk to any bikers you know and see who they recommend. If several recommend the same shop and have done business there for some time, that's where I would recommend.

i'm out there having a look before the rain comes and...

From what I can see, there are 3 hoses,
one from the side, one from the bottom, and one that goes up and under the gas tank.. all three are open-ended, meaning, they dont seem to have a home for the open end, and none of them have a plug on the end?

Thoughts?

My thought is the PO removed the plug as Gearjammer suggested.

Just 3? there should be 4 hoses out the bottom. Sounds like the PO removed one as. The puke tube is a clear vinyl hose on my bike.

Opps! There are 4, one is a clear vinyl, but looks like its home is under the battery cover?

I'd make the guy that broke the screw replace the carb. It sounds like he did some major damge removing the broken screw.
