New to Rebels
Hello everyone, how's it going ? ( I don't really expect an answer, it's more of a rhetorical question). I'm new to the forum and to the Rebels. I just picked up a 2004 Rebel 250, all black. It's got about 3300 miles on it, so it's like a new bike. Only paid about $1,230.00 for it off ebay. Not a bad deal. As I said, I'm new to Rebels, but not to motorcycles. I learned to ride in 1980 when I was 20 (you do the math ). I rode for several years, then got out of it. Got back in about 5 years ago and now have a small stable of bikes. Currently, 1994 CBR 1000F, 1997 CBR 600F3, 1998 CBR 600F3, and now a 2004 Rebel 250.
We (my wife, she rides her own) and I wanted to pick up something that would allow us to practice some of the lower speed manuvers on a smaller bike without having to think about the fairings all the time. We want to get to the point where we can do U Turns, figure 8's and other things with our eyes closed (figuratively), and then take those skills to the bigger bikes. Anyway, I'm here and thought I'd say hello.

Hello and welcome aboard!
The Rebel is great for what you want to do. I like to put my first two or three thousand miles of the season on the Rebel to get back in the swing of things.
Not only that, I think you'll find other uses as well. Since it's light weight, I will put mine on the back of my motorhome using just a hitch mouted carrier. no need for a trailer that way and it then serves as easy transport to local shopping. It is also great to have a Rebel around for economical errand running. Getting about 72 mpg is sure easy on the gas budget!
Of course the best reason of all to imclude a Rebel in your bike stable, It's just plain fun to ride!

There is an advantage to living in S Florida, our riding season is 12 months long... lol. Although I will admit its pretty hot here right now.

I envy your 12 month riding! I do put my bike(s) up for snow. It usually means taking three or four months off.

Welcome IDoDirt, there's a lot of people here that have done as you. Myself included. Personnally, I find the Rebel a blast to ride.

Welcome to the forum. We have almost 12 months of riding here in Ca. where I live. Sometimes the temperature gets into the teens in the morning and doesn't get very warm all day.
ride safe
