New Rebel owner in NC
Hello all,
Last week I purchased my first motorcycle. 2002 Rebel! After cleaning it up, adding the proper amount of air to the tires, adjusting the chain and valves, and of course an oil change, I feel like I stole it at $900. What a nice little bike!!
I'm a man of 250 some odd pounds and have no problem getting over 70mph. I am however taking it slow, as it has been over 20 years since I have operated a motorcycle . Just wanted to check in and prepare you Sr. members for lots of questions.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you got a great deal. Keep the rubber side down.
Ride safe

Welcome bufbills,
You should be very happy with the Rebel, it's a great little bike. I was down in NC last month on my 2008 Rebel riding the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway. My Rebel has a 15 tooth front gear and it handled 70/75 mph on the interstate for the three days to NC and two days back to Canada. I put over 2600 miles on the bike in seven days without any trouble and great gas mileage, most days over 65 mpg.
You've got some great roads around you and I met a lot of friendly folks in your part of the country.
Enjoy!

Hey welcome bufbills! My motorcycle experience has been pretty much like yours! I bought my Reb brand new off the showroom floor. After sitting on a bunch of bikes I just liked the way the Reb felt. I don't regret it!
