New Guy from Brooklyn

Hey dudes, i've been lurking the forums for quite some time and thought i'd formally introduce myself. I live in Brooklyn a couple blocks from the old Gasoline Alley and it is pretty intimidating being a complete n00b with so many incredible bikes in my neighborhood. I've noticed a few rebels around lately, but they're all completely stock. I can't wait to get my hands dirty on mine and start bothering some of you with questions. this forum is great, cheers.

Welcome. There are plenty of ideas on mods, and plenty of advice on wrenching.

Welcome to the forum! If this is your first bike, as others have said, it's a good idea to put a few thousand miles on it before making any mods that will affect the steering in any way. Chopping things like fenders won't affect it, but going rigid, installing really tall ape hangers, changing the front end, etc., will. You already know about the MSF course.

Welcome. And I totally agree with flitecontrol. If you are a new or inexperienced rider, do n't do anything other than cosmetic mods. Some of the mods I've seen done to Rebels are dangerous for even highly skilled experienced riders, and definitely not for beginners. Honda Designed the Rebel (way back in '85) to be an easy to ride bike, and it is still one of the most used bikes used in MSF and other rider training courses. Jerry.
