New "Old" Rider
Hi
Last time I rode a Motor Bike I was in my early twenties, now I'm 58 (and a half), and have been hankering to get back on two wheels once more, I have my learners permit, and I have now found the perfect bike, a 1997 Honda CMX 250 Rebel. The price was right, and its now on the road at less than it was when it was new, bike had less than 9,200 kilometers (5,700 miles) on the clock, (sorry, I live in Australia and we use the metric system) The paint is perfect and polished, the chrome is gleeming again, the bike had been stored under cover for the last 6 years due to lack of entheusiasm of previous owner.
In this state, Victoria, a learner can ride anything within the specified Power to weight ratio, under a 660cc bike. I tested a few of the bigger bikes like the Yamaha V-Star Classic and Custom and a few other new bikes, but the one bike which I felt I could venture out into the big world of Cars, 4x4's busses trucks etc and feel comfortable with is the 250 Rebel, well at least for 12 - 15 months when I get of my restrictions and can go for anything I like.

Hi All, I am waiting for my new 09 rebel (my first bike) to have things finihsed on it before picking it up. I am getting highway bars, highway pegs and a riser for my handlebars to fit me better (I am 6' and about 230lbs.) I was worries the Rebel may not be big eneough for me but I loved the feel of it and am sure it will do any posted limit up here in the mountains. If there is anyone near Creston BC, Canada who wants to ride look me up!

Greetings all. My first bike in '92 was a silver 450. Since then I've owned several Rebels, old and new. I currently have two 450's. Nice to find a dedicated bunch of Rebel enthusiasts.

Hey all! New to this forum, and to the motorcycling world. Will be getting a 2006 Honda Rebel by the end of this week :bluethum:
Btw... does anyone know why uploading avatars or photos doesn't work at the moment?
See you in the forums...

Grettings from Portland, Oregon, well Beaverton, but anyway; bought an '85 Rebel last july and already it is apart waiting to be tenderly put back. I had to purchase a used cylinder head due to a cracked one. Can't wait for this thing to get back to work. Maybe by June.
