Yes, Louise, you and your husband should definitely join us in Interlochen the weekend after next. It's gonna be great!
We'll be camping at Cycle-Moore campground and riding through the Tunnel of Trees to the Mackinac Bridge and/or doing a tour of Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas and the Sleeping Bear Dunes.
Michigan riders

Hi guys, I may be premature writing on a forum here but I would appreciate your expert advice. I am about to view (and potentially buy) a 1986 model as advertised:
Honda Rebel CMX 250 - Walton on Thames - London - Motorbikes & Scooters for Sale - 62830220
Have had lots of exchange emails with the dealer (he's not a private seller as the ad says) I know nothing about motorcycles - I just want a light cruiser and thought this may be a good start for me. At the same time, I really don't want to spend my money on something that will fall apart after a few weeks of riding it (I need it for a commute to work) I'd be very grateful if you could let me know your opinions!
Olga

If the bike has been well maintained, it should be reliable transportation. If not, it may take a lot of work to get it going. If you know someone who rides, take them with you to look at the bike and test ride it. Or have the owner test ride it and you follow to ensure he doesn't go around the corner, shut it off for 5-10 minutes and come rolling back to the start point. Do a search for tips on buying a used motorcycle.

Thanks for this - thinking of hiring somebody from vehice inspection as don't know anybody with any mechanical knowledge. Have read up on the rebel/used bikes a lot but pure theory won't do as this bike has been completely restored (as the seller claims) so looks great outside but dread to think what may be inside...

If you have to hire someone, get a motorcycle mechanic to go with you. They should be able to identify problems and inspector might not catch.
