Just signed up and figured I should introduce myself. I have a new-to-me 1985 CMX250 with 119 miles on it. Hoping to get the carb cleaned up, gas tank flushed out, new air filter, new fluids, a new battery, and new spark plugs, and then I'll see how she goes.
My grandpa bought it new, drove it home and (apparently) parked it, and moved on to other hobbies. Pretty sure the varnish in the gas tank is the first tank of gas that went in it.
Yep. I also have a 1974 Kawasaki KZ400 he gave me with a tick under 7000 miles that I need to get up and running, but it will be more work to get tagged, so I'm starting with the Honda.
Welcome to the forum
85 just needs good foam filter and some fresh oil.. 1st generation 85-87 foam covers can be found online.
still running original foam in my air box.. I wash it out with solvent and re-oil twice a season
paper filters are cost by design, good for Honda $$$$
