Cool Got my Rebel today

I finally got my Rebel today. It's an 87 250, maroon. Has 10K miles on it. Has a couple of small issues but runs great and looks good. We married off the last of 4 children last month and now it's time to have some fun! My wife and I both took the MSF course and are looking forward to riding and practicing. Eventually we'll get another bike and ride together.

I'm 55 years old and a professor at James Madison University in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. I love to fly fish so look forward to combining my old and new hobbies.

I've already gotten a lot of help from the Forum and look forward to being an active member. Thanks, everyone.

Welcome. Not sure how you're going to combine your hobbies unless it's fly fishing at 55 miles per hour on the Rebel......

Welcome to the forum, Jim!
Like bB said, I am very fond of the '87 with the body color frame. it was the only year and color they did that. By the way, the official Honda name for the color is Candy Wineberry Red. Paint code R114CU.
Enjoy that ride! You've got a great start with the MSF course but I'm sure we don't have to sell you on the virtues of learning.

Put your bike's year and size in your signature.
It helps others help you.

We take our Rebels fishing all the time. The key is keeping the bike OUT of the water.

Hey, Longbeach: I've got to get *to* the streams somehow, right? I just need to figure out how to strap on all my gear...

Great to hear from everyone. I got the bike too late this eve to ride ( and the battery needed a charge) so tomorrow feels like Christmas. First ride on my own bike!

Would a Honda dealership have that paint? I will need to do some touch ups.

Honda wouldn't have the right paint anymore. They reformulated R114CU sometime in the late 90s and its not quite the same color.

ColorRite does make the touch up. Be advised it is a two stage paint. You put a base coat and a top coat on.
Here is the top coat. Honda R114CU Candy Wineberry - ColorRite
