^ditto on soaking plates. Pay close attention to how things come off. I suggest taking pictures* step by step so you can get them back on the correct order/direction (i.e. the judder spring can be put in backwards).
*The other selfish reason we want pictures is to be able to do a step-by-step tutorial. LOL. It helps you learn and helps other members learn. And any help we cn get is very much appreicted.

thanks guys. im gonna try to get the manual and fix it myself. if not, i called orange county honda and they said itll be about 225 for parts and 120 for labor.

Typical stealership price gouging. On ebay, good quality EBC disks run $43 with shipping, and springs, which you may not need, are $15 shipped. Add in the $3.50 lock nut, and the total is $61.50. Get the less expensive plates and the price drops to less than $50. $225 is outrageous for parts.

If you have to go to a repair shop, try to find an independent local one that has a good reputation. Go online and see if any complaints have been filed about them with the Better Business Bureau. Talk with other bikers to see who they use. Independent shops tend to charge less per hour for labor and they aren't going to try to sell you a new bike or charge you so much that you'll want a new one.

theres actually a good shop 7 minutes walking distance from my home so if i fail, i'll just walk it over there.

well im hoping to get my bike fixed by the end of the next weekend. heres a list of what im going to order for the bike:
ebc clutch kit (ck1191)
ebc clutch spring set
clymer manual
battery tender (bike doesnt turn on now)
nut lock
got a couple of more questions, do i need to buy steel plates? i believe these only come with friction plates.

also, whats a good oil to soak the plates in?
btw, sorry if im getting annoying with all these questions. i really want to fix it myself. not just to save some money but to learn about motorcycles and feel like i accomplished something.

Not annoying at all. The manual will answer most, if not all your questions. Unless they are warped or excessively worn, the steel plates should be OK. Lightly sand them with medium grit paper to remove glaze. Soak friction plates in the same oil used in crankcase. Good luck.

Update:
After a couple of weeks of working on it, I finally got the bike riding again. If I had all the parts in hand, I would have finished in about two days or less. Not as difficult as I thought it would be.
All together I spent around $150 for friction plates, springs, clymer manual, oil, locknut, and one bolt that was bent.
Saved myself another $150 by doing it myself instead of taking it to a shop.
Thanks to everyone who answered my questions, helped me out a ton.
