Well done. Seems you are impervious to the peer pressure that was brought to bear. My MSF course primarily had Rebels and Nighthawks; nothing over 250 cc. I rode my Rebel because it was $50 cheaper than renting one for the course, and I wanted the experience on my ride.

Yeah, congratulations on passing the class. I have taken the experienced riders class a couple of times, once on a 1500/6 Goldwing.

On the gloves, on my Vulcan 750 I have a power connector wired into the headlight shell, so the wires don't have to go far. I think the gloves may use less power than heated grips. I never figured out how heated grips worked exactly. If the grips get warm, doesn't wearing gloves keep the warmth from reaching your hands? And also, the heat is not inside, like it is with the gloves, it would be on the outside of the grips, where it would all be absorbed by the cold air blowing over them, I would think.

The Buell Blast is a POS IMO, and in fact, the Buell company is no longer a part of HD, and I don't believe it exists at all anymore. I can see Buell owners having a parts problem.

In AZ you can take your MC test on a 150cc scooter with an automatic transmission. We used to have a scooter dealer around here that made good money by renting scooters to people who had just bought new $25K Harleys, and had never ridden before. The dealer would have someone deliver the scooter to the test place, they would take the test on that, and get their MC endorsement, so they could legally ride the huge HD they just bought. Something always seemed wrong with that picture to me. Jerry.

Congrats on the course. I was surprised by all the questions it answered that I had never thought to ask. How did you do on 'The Box'? I was intimidated by it, but I passed it. It was the first thing I worked on after the course. There was one woman in my class that just couldn't seem to get it. She managed to squeak out a pass on the test, but just barely.

First of all thank you Jerry!

Just like the heated seats of a car will heat your butt and your back without you having to be naked. Same thing, the heat will go through your gloves, just takes a few seconds. You sould try them sometime they are great (IMNSHO) and I only payed something like 50 bucks. I don't know which one will take more amps if the grips or the gloves, but my grips have settings 1-5 I don't need more than 1 with an air temperature of 36 to 38 F. Your hand covers the grip therefore keeping the colder air reach the grip, and therefore transfering the heat to your hand. The "thickness" of your glove won't stop the temperature exchange, but it will help distribute it evenly.

I agree with you that the Buell Blast is a POS. You can see the lack of quality on those bikes even from far, but once you take a close look at them, they really look like a POS. I would have loved to do the MSF class on my Rebel (and show some of those HD snobs what a "metric" bike can do as far as manouvering) I would have even pay more if they let me do it, but for insurance reasons no body is alowed to.

I personally wouldn't spend 25K on a single bike even if I could afford it, 'cuz I'd probably spend more time buffing it than riding it. And I would be so scared to drop it/scratch it, 'cuz it would cost thousands to fix. On my little rebel if I drop it while jockeing it or something, it would be the perfect excuse to get a larger capacity tank for 70-100 bucks, or repaint the whole thing for under 50 bucks (got my own compressor and stuff)

Thanks Fridge!

I never touched the lines outside of the box, got it right every single time, I was the second best amog the class mates on the box. But I can't brag about it, since the guy who "out-boxed" me has never ridden a bike 'till the class and he could do the box completely efforlessly and with a lot more spear room than I did. I could do it, but it took a big effort on my part. And yes we had the same lady on our class, she made her own box (a big one in her mind) and she couldn't get it.

The good part is that the range is a shor ride from my place, they only use it every other week, and since they can't take the paint with them when they are done, they encourage/invited us to go there and practice, the box, the peanut, weaving, and all kinds of stuff.

Congrats Twister! I did the box perfectly too...in practice. When it came to actual test time, wouldn't you know it, I dropped a foot once. Twice was failing! So I had the pressure on from the beginning. Then came the "sigh heard around the world".

I dropped a foot once on the first turn . I was so sure I'd failed because of it that i loosened up and finished the course with no problem.

I did'nt drop a foot, but I was trying / concentrating so hard that I was unconciently pulling my tongue out on the direction I was turning (like the weight is going to help) and of course my instructors where laughing their rear end off. But they didn't deduct points for that. (as long as I wouldn't fall and bite my tongue)
