I have to agree with Jerry on the levers. Cast aluminum isn't that strong to begin with. If they were billet, then yes. I would urge caution.

The wheels do look really good though.

Most modern levers are designed to bend quite a bit before breaking, but I don't know with holes in them. Jerry.
Back in in my bicycle racing days, some guys got into drilling holes is parts to make them lighter........That is where we coined the word "drillium" (drilled aluminum).

Many of the drillium parts broke in normal use.

Sup fellas, got a little bit more done to the rebel.

Well I got excited so I went ahead and started final assembly.
I painted the swingarm and frame. Started adding all my powdered pieces.

Made a bracket to make my speedo sit lower.

Got me some ears, gonna go ahead and use my 81 xs400 headlight. Its a little bigger than the stock. My stock had a cracked plastic casing, pretty crappy shape.

Clean up the Carb and painted it with some engine paint that is gas and oil resistant.

I never set time goals on projects. Takes all the fun out of it. I have to deal with time limits and deadlines at work. That's why it's work, and I get paid for it. To me, projects are supposed to be fun and relaxing, when I get to do things my way, and do them right, no matter how long it takes. Totally different from work. Jerry.
