Wow! This is my first post and I know this will bring the thread back up to the top where it should be. I think this is the coolest rebel I've seen so far, and I thank you for showing the build from start to finish. I want to be just like you when I grow up. (I'm 40 by the way.) Keep up the great work.
Wyatt

Another thing.
Does all bikes have the same ratio on the speedo?
So that I could use a speedo from a ""random"" bike?
I realy liked the fact that all the lights (neutral, sidestand, highbeam...) where inside the speedo

There is a whole thread on speedo's somewhere on this forum. Most people seem to go with a 2:1 ratio, and another guy said he used a 2240:60 (something like that) ratio from old Harleys. I researched this myself too, because I'd like to get a much smaller speedo to clean up the front end a bit with my project. Keep in mind that even our stock speedo's seem to read off when compared to radar guns, etc. Mine seems to read about 3mph faster than what radar says, and since most people have been tailgating me on the roads, I don't doubt that I've been driving slower than I should have been.

not sure if this is exactly it, but i know a lot of people use these Drag Specialties mini speedometers. They come in all the different ratios and black or white faces. the housing is chrome but i'm pretty sure OldSchoolJ powder coated his himself.

Sup guys. Havent been on in awhile. Speedo was from mikesxs.com 2:1 ratio and I never really tested how accurate. 3mph diference doesnt really bother me. Laterz and thanks for the compliments.

This thread needs to be stickied!!!

Is this bike already sold? Also, where did you relocate the electronics? Where did you get the oil tank? Is that a Hardknock oil tank? Any need for re-jetting? BTW, props the bike looks GREAT. You have an excellent eye for the aesthetics of a bike. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. If you're interested, I might consider having you powdercoat some stuff for me. Thanks again.

Ha! I just noticed the 'oil' tank. Looks like you hid some of the wiring in there. I like it, cool idea.
