I like the color and stripe job myself, I know the pictures often mask stuff, but so far looks slick.

So whats the deal with the Ultimate Chrome? That is a powder coat? How durable do you think it is? It looks more like stainless steel to me, but I still like it. Do you think you could do fenders like that, and leave them that way, or would it get messed up in a hurry? Jerry.

Ultimate Chrome is a powdercoat. It is 10 times more durable then paint. Yes I can do it. It may need a clear over it. I would have to read up but again I'm still learning alot about powdercoating so I'm still getting minor imperfections. If you want something done I would charge dirt cheap due to my experience level with it. Just let me know.

Those details are looking sharp! You planning on powder coating the tank to match?

Of course, thanks for the compliments. Have to rework the rear tab on my sporty tank and then I'll powdercoat it.

LOL @ the 140mph speedo on a Rebel...that's always good for "street cred". Seriously though the bike is looking good.

I might be inlcined to fab a new speedo bracket though, just to position it a little lower as it really sticks up over the clip-ons, making it the "tallest" feature of the bike.

The blue looks really sharp. How does the striping look against the powder coat )it looks good in the pics)? I was always told you couldn't do anything but single tone with PC because anything you put over it ends up looking "layered".

I agree with Shack on the speedo mount, been meaning to do that myself. Biggest thing I can see with the one you fabbed is with that much metal bent like that seems like it would have a spring effect and vibrate so much as to make it difficult to read. Mine is mounted using the mount tab that came with it. It vibrates, but not too bad. I do need to drop mine down a bit.

Well, there's nothing written in stone that says you must use the stock mounting points. Fab a bracket that slips under the riser nuts (underneath the top tree) for a "lowered" mounting point.
