Old Skool Washer Trick

Anyone ever tried this washer trick to get some backpressure back in their dragpipes?

Haven't used either, but this is essentially the same as a tune-able baffle, yes ?

(Have found 1/4" bolts strategically installed inside of straight slip-ons. Years ago, one way cops would check for baffles was to run a nightstick into the end of the exhaust. When the nightstick hit the bolt, they'd often assume they were hitting a baffle.....hehehe)

Getting back to the link, was checking this out last night but it was late & I'm not sure if I was/am following this correctly or not. The article says that by rejetting/altering air filter, maximum hp rating is greater than stock, but that there's a "difference between usuable power and maximum horsepower". The dyno results seem to defy the "law of relativity", which confuses me......

In looking at the drop after 3000 rpm, the recovery begins before reaching 4000 rpm & the previous drop now matches or surpasses the other readings rather quickly. I have to wonder how noticeable the drop would be during the actual ride.

On a different note, if a hotter cam is run to enhance top-end performance, a bike can often run rough or "lumpy" at lower rpms, but once reaching the upper end of the power band, the hotter cam allows for smoother & substantial power gains.

Not sure what to think.....like I said, it was late last night & this morning, the caffeine still hasn't kicked in, LMAO!
