its a great idea, but I dont understand the point. When I ride I dont give a crap to see, hear the phone ringer, or talk to anyone. Its my whole point to riding. To get away from the everyday things. Nice idea though

I agree with your idea of not caring who's calling, but for people who are "on call" 24 hours a day, the ability to see the phone is really handy.
As long as I can see the phone to make sure its not work calling, I can keep riding without having to pull over to verify. It gets to be a pain to have to stop and check the phone when its usually just a friend calling anyway. My friends can wait but my work, well they don't have a very good sense of humor about that sort of thing.
I think I'll be looking into rigging something up for the Rebel here soon.

Medic, I understand being on call 24/7 since I was AF for over 20 years.
My suggestion to you, as I did, was to get a second cell phone. That number was military only. No one else go that number, period. If it rang (vibrated), then you knew... And, you can usually get one cheap as an add on to your plan, you won't be using many minutes on it anyway.

That's not a bad idea Cagie, thanks for the tip. That's what I need, more junk to carry with me all the time! Hahaha no, it makes good sense though, I'll look into it.

Well Johnny I don't ride to forget about the world, I need to keep in touch. But the idea is not to answer the phone, but to know someone is calling. What urge me to create this mod was....You know how many times my cell phone jump from my clip and falls on the floor?...Imagine this at 60mph...Here it rides secure instead of my plastic clip on my belt.
Had the 2 phones did not work for me... I also had a Federal Government only phone.

I think this is the first time I clicked on this thread and the photos actually showed up. Makes much more sense now.
I like it!

I DO ride to forget about the world. I carry a cell phone on my belt, TURNED OFF, for emergency use only. I want absolutely nothing to do with a cell phone while riding, or driving for that matter. In fact, I usually keep my phone turned off. Otherwise it would be a leash around my neck. I didn't grow up in the cell phone generation. We had a home phone, with a rotary dial and a real bell for a ringer.
I do have GPS (Garmin eTrex) on my dual sport bike, so I can find my way out of whatever I rode a hundred miles back into. I never needed one on the road. There are signs and maps. Jerry.
