Bobber Tail light wiring help Please!

I purchased a side mount tail light kit (ebay) which is a replica Ford Model A tail light and went to install it today. However, this new tail light has two wires (green and black). I attached the green to my Rebel's Green/yellow stripe wire and the black to my Rebel's Brown wire. It lights up but when I hit the brake, I get no brake light. Has any one had the same problem or tips. Any help you can give is greatly appreaciated!!

does the bulb have two spots on the bottom of the base, or one in the center?

Don't you need a dual element bulb, or a diode set up to run both on one?

Yes you do...thats why I asked the question. Only two wires he says. Not a good sign unless their using the light housing for ground.

Thanks for the quick replies. I assumed (and never checked) that it would be a dual-filament bulb. So, this morning I verified that this new tail light does not have a dual filament bulb. I tried using the Rebel's bulb but it does not fit (placement of tabs that hold it in place are different) therefore, I'll stop at the auto part store tonight to see what I find. However, I put the original bulb back in the new tail light and connected it again and this time it does not work at all! Therefore I ran a separate ground wire to one of the two screws (which look like ground screws on the rear of the light) and this got the smaller (license plate) bulb to work only. Ahh, fun, fun. I thought this would be simple. I'll mess it somemore tonight and post some picture of the back of the light. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Yeah if it's a two wire, you'll have to ground it through the housing. I wonder why it came with a single filament bulb.

You guys were right! I got it to work by first mounting the new tail light (which essentially grounds the system) and THEN connecting the brown (rebel) wire to my black wire and the green/yellow stripe (rebel) wire to my green tail light wire. Voila....Success!
FYI. My tail light comes with two bulbs, both single filament and one smaller than the other. The smaller one is the running light/license plate light and the large one is the brake light. I hope this helps others in the future. By the way, one set back/problem I had was that one of the bulbs looked fine but was actually not functioning. Thanks again....I'll post a picture of the finished product. Looks good.
