Bobber Help Please!

Does anyone know what is the max size tire i can put on the back of an 09 rebel? Also if you compare the pipe mod available on bluecollarbobbers.com and the mac pipes for a rebel. Which sounds better? Thanks guys!

My bike came from the dealer with a 150/90-15. I haven't heard of anyone putting anything bigger on. But if anyone has I hope they chime in.

I haven't done any pipe mods.

Heres a link to what tires fit particular size rims. Rim size is stamped on your rims. once you know that number, this guide will tell you the applicable tire you can run. Please note its NOT SAYING IT WILL CLEAR YOUR PARTICULAR BIKE!! Only the tire/rim combination.

Yeah, just because a tire will fit on the rim does not mean it will clear the swing arm, chain guard, or exhaust. I think a 150/90 would be cutting it pretty close, since the stock size is a 130/90. As far as the exhaust, the Jardine system would probably sound better, because it is longer, and would probably have a deeper sound. But because it is long, and especially because it exits on only one side of the bike, I don't think it would go with the bobber look. I got an hour long DVD from BCB, showing how to build a complete bobber from a 250 Rebel with BCB parts, and their mufflers do not sound bad. They also have several videos on YouTube, and one of them shows the bike running with their mufflers. Jerry.

Yeah, that's stock for the '96's and up, rear wheel.

junkyard (jerry), the 150 actually fits really nice. It has plenty of clearance for the swingarm. And my shocks are set at the mid position in adjustment. Side to side is a little tight if you call 1/2" clearance tight. But it works, and it came from the dealer that way.

I actually like the look of the 150 on back. When I ordered a new tire last summer, I just told him it was for a Rebel. My mistake! I got a 130 to put on. I guess I'll see how it looks.
