ok kids I got my 15 tooth front sproket in the mail! were ready to roll today! i removed the cover last night and put the sprocket on the shaft to check clearance issues previously mentioned, I think there may be a little chain rubbage torward the bottom, I'll know better with the chain in place. I believe however it should be within sanding tolerances though. with any luck it will be alot less that a 1/4 in and I can move forward. at any rate taking it to work here and will modify for the ride home. Im so exctied I could wet myself!

We have clearance clarence! woot woot! okay so far perfect install will post pics tonight fits good kindof tight but no grinding yaaaaaaaaaaa! went in slick. test drove short distance and noticed right away in lower three gears wow theres gidy up! I didnt notice a lack of hp today is pretty windy though. I plan on taking it to lunch and driving home so more oportunities today to test it. I only have before adn after pics cus Im bad about remembering LOL. I just want to get it done. but it was real easy and no chain cutting. How big of a difference has yet to be determined.

Cool Lunch run!

Okay so lunch time was windy as hell so the little stint i had to do on the free way to get to a store was a frightening life threatening experience. it was only one exit but still 60mph in 60mph gusts just threw me around like a rag doll. grrrrrrrrrrr but on the way back I took side streets and it felt like a bike should. Kinda ballsy I didnt use 5th gear the whole way back. was cruising with good rpm in 3rd gear at 40mph. 4th fear at 55mph. I think changing the rear gear might bog it down more but this combo I think would be awesome for the around the town nonfreeway guys!

I dont think I will get a chance to do freeway run today because of wind and poss rain will try tomorrow though so stay tuned.

I'll tell you about the old crow at the bike store in the gripe section.

I thought about going back to the 33T, but a 15T front. It cruises good at 55MPH, but a lot of power loss though (14-30). The weather here just hasn't cooperated enough yet for me to give my full evaluation, so I'll stick to it for a while yet. It's nice to hear that a 15T fits up front, it sure looked close.

Rode out last night with dad ( he rode his BMW Boxer cup 1200, performing wheelies through the intersections LOL) and me on my trusty steed! The new gears surprized me alot last night even with the heavy wind. since theres no tack it makes the discription rough. but I used to upshift out of first at 15mph which is before the first shift point indicator which is around 20mph. this morning I noticed I could top out first at 25mph. Now the sound is different, before at high rpm's I could hear the engine straining and chattering at a high tone, grrrrrrrrrrrrr. Now that same low grumble I know and love is heard through the whole band bwaaaaaaa...........bwaaaaaaaaaaaa............bwaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...

I was rolling out the throttle hard getting down the on ramp last night (trying to keep up with dad the show off) and a civic got between us so I checked left, no traffic i'm already doing 65 but im in 5th and it felt sluggish like a reall bike, you know like I could drop a gear? So I dropped a gear and woh there was power rolled the throttle upshifted and bam im doing 75 and cut back over. When we stop at our destination last night even dad commented. ( "wow! I was worried I shouldnt have let that civic get between us but I looked over my shoulder and there you were pooring it on! I was impressed!")

So i tried to poor it on on the way home last night alone and again this morning and the infamous 80 is still not in my book comfortably reallistic. I mean when I say it will do 80 I want it to be with alittle cross wind and a slight up grade with a little power left over for passing in order for me to say 80. I think 70 is a very realistic number for us regular drivers with pulling away power left over and low rpm's. I think if I was to rod out my exhaust to give better flow and rejet (which I already have a larger one) it's possible to maybe achieve more Horse power but I'm not quite ready to sacrifice the nice sound and feel I have just achieved.

This is deffinetly my favorite modd so far! I might try a 32 rear later which will take me from 2.2 to 2.13 whereas other guys doing just the rear at 30 got 2.14 but I dont even think its necassary. This really has a good feel and a good sound especially city driving I dont think youll ever need 5th if your doing 50 or less. still good low sounding rpm at 50 in fourth. By the way I was shifting last night and this morning into 5th at 65mph then cruising 70 with plenty of pull away up to 75mph.

hope this helps gus Im having trouble posting pics will try to figure it out tonight. picked up some dual filiment tail laights last night working on those today cus its slow

Did my 200 mile road test today. Previously the 14-30 did ok, but like all are saying, loss of power on hills and headwinds. The 15-33 seemed to be better with this, although today had no headwinds (absotively the mostest gorgeous day for riding) it took the hills a little better than with the other sprockets, not much, but better. Like maddogg said, when it started to get bogged on a hill I just downshifted and away we went. I wasn't out for speed records, just a lesiurely ride up to drop off a handlebar set to a buddy and mosey home. For me the setup will stay for a while.

as for me i had normal cross winds today Id guess 20mph and on two straight aways I rolled up to 80 pretty good. I defintely felt power in the seat. Now she rolled down to 75 up a slight grade then closer to 70 before she crested and went right back up to 80 again. I think this is a great setup for me. I behave at 70 usually but today I really liked the way it felt the whole way home.
