Sissy bar bag and Saddlebag options

after a week of riding around town (and putting on 100 miles) I realized I really need storage.

I have a honda sissy bar that is to be installed in a few weeks and was thinking of changing my order to include one with a luggage rack, but I still need closed storage for a change of clothes, glasses, water bottle, etc.

What do you guys think of this? Nelson-Rigg Riggpaks CTB-100-SLR Solar Mini Trunk Bag - Cruiser Motorcycle - Motorcycle Superstore

I was thinking of just getting a sissy bar bag or large tool bag, but if I can find a nice set of saddlebags (possible nylon/waterproof) I would be unbelievably happy to have more useable storage.

I saw these from Kuryakyn but they are WAY TOO LARGE for our bikes.
Anything like this out there in smaller sizes?

A lo of people have had good success using Willie & Max Complact Slant Saddlebags without having to relocate the turn signals. You could probably shop around and find them a little cheaper. Leatherup also has a decent selection of bags that willl fit the Rebel.

That Nelson-Rigg bag is nice, but small and spendy. I just use a backpack ($20 from walmart) strapped on for smaller loads.

Luggage racks are definitely useful.

I run with the Willie & Max Complact Slants, not the most storage space IMHO but it works. The right side holds my Frogg Toggs (never been used) and the left side misc. items such as shop rag, tire gauge, GPS pouch. Room for many other small misc. things.

On the p-pad behind the Protac backrest I have a....

T-Bags Helmet Bag

Over priced bag! But the room inside is phenominal. Have I ever been able to fit a helmet inside. NO! Holds everything else though. My Nikon D50 kit for big adventure photos, my Bubba Keg, a towel, and a bunch of other stuffs.

I absolutely positively loathe the name on the bag... T-BAGS of all things. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I had two guys in a parking lot doing a Bevis and Butthead routine with it when I returned to my bike. I swear I'm gonna rip that logo off the bag. But for space, you can't beat it. Right size for the Rebel.

The TEA-BAG sorta looks goofy so I would like a sweet Kuryakyn Grantour Travel Bag. It looks good and is WAAAAYYY over priced and it probably can't hold what the TEA-BAG can hold; that thing is pure SUV cargo space.

When I'm not on the long trips, I can store my full motorcycle cover, my Bubba Keg and several other small items.

Mmmkay, enough babbling.

River Road medium slants fit without any modifications to the bike. Mine lasted 3 seasons before I changed to bigger bags. I loaded them to the max! The only drawback is that the luxurious imported pleather is subject to cracking in cold weather. I'm refering to the buckle straps, don't bend them too much in the cold.

You can get the same box for ~$35 without the solar panel Nelson-Rigg Riggpaks CTB-100 Mini Trunk Bag - Cruiser Motorcycle - Motorcycle Superstore

I would want something larger than that box appears to be. At 10x10x4 you aren't going to get all the stuff you talked about in it.

I can never have enough storage space. I am always carrying things around, especially tools, air compressor, etc, etc.

I have River Road extra large PVC bags and a Bestem trunk. Sometimes I ride with the Nelson-Rigg bag shown between the Protac backrest and the trunk.

People are always asking me if I am going on a long trip. I always respond with "I wish I was right now".

I'd also heard good things about the Willie and Max compact slants. I opted for these, as they had higher rated interior space and great reviews. Can't speak highly enough of them.
