Reflective stripes for tires/rims...anyone have them?

I saw these and things like them on eBay and was wondering if anyone had experience with them.

Motorcycle Auto 15" Tire Wheel Rim Stripe Tape Sticker: eBay Motors (item 300428508695 end time Sep-14-10 01:36:08 PDT)

I figured they might not stay on for long or may just be cheaply made. I am looking for ways to be more visible at night without having to add driving light/accessories. I already have a reflective jacket and figured these strips may be a cheap and easy way to dress up the bike and be noticed.

Those look really cool. I second the question of quality of the product it self.

Itd be nice if 3m made an official one.

Beleive it was fridgitator who posted about similar stuff some time ago. I can't speak for the material you linked to, but I have added reflective black tape to both my bikes. It is almost invisible on the the black (frame) portions of the rebel during the day, but really shines at night! It's available in a variety of colors. HotWraps - American Standard reflective motorcycle tank and graphics wrap kit.

I believe the material is 3M.

Same site, different page

I've been very happy with the product. I even cut up some leftover strips into squares and put them on the sidewalls, thinking they'd last a week or so. Still there after more than 7K miles. Looks cosmic at night!

3M makes great products when it comes to vinyl and adhesives. I use their film when I am making signs or graphics for trucks and it last a long time. To get the best adhesion possible it all comes down to your prep. The better you clean the longer it lasts.

I put purple reflective stripes on my wifes silver rebel and they look wicked at night. If you are gonna do it I suggest getting the curved kits for 2-15" and 2-18" wheels. These come in 4 pieces per wheel and are much easier to install and get straight. I did the straight stripes and they were had to get them to curve the same all the way around the wheel. As long as you prep the wheel they will stay stuck for a long time. Hers have been on for 2 years with zero lift spots.
