New rebel rider in Atlanta here, count me in. Also a graphic designer by trade an would be happy to take the logo digital once it's decided so that it can be mass produced for patches.

lilherb, im about an hr drive from you here in dalton, GA we need to meet up and go for a drive. There is really no rebels to ride with here, so I ride with harleys and others. I would like to ride with another rebel!

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride! ~Hunter S. Thompson

Also, here's some interesting and relevant info...

The "Rebel Motorcycle Club" was founded in Australia in 1969. They wear American Confederate symbols. They are into drugs and illegal activities. We should not be associated with them in anyway. I propose the name Honda needs to be in our name there and nothing to do with the American Confederacy. Otherwise, we could be mistakenly associated with this criminal group.

Read about them here...

I think the Eagle wing from the Honda symbol is a better way to go or the Honda Spread Eagle and need to get the Honda name in there.

I just read this thread and I like the idea of a Honda Rebel Club, but I think it needs to be tweaked a bit more and get a wider poll effort conducted, IMHO.
You make a valid point... if not this thread, then where should the poll be posted?

My goal has been to make the formation of this club as legit and scientific as possible, given that we are founding this group online.
After this poll concluded, I also thought that I should create an account on the other Honda Rebel online forum and post the poll over there as well.

Should we re-run the name poll

It should not post-pone anything since we are in the process of deciding on a mascot / group patch.

Regarding the "Rebels" MC and the "Rebel Rousers" RC, it won't be an issue. Read backward a few pages in this thread. I posted a lengthy post about the Rebels MC and our RC.

In a nutshell it all boils down to patch design, as long as we don't mimic their patch logo, do a 3 piece vest, or claim any territory then we will be fine. Our goal is to do a 1 piece patch.

@shadowrider. I really like the last design you have worked up. Here's an idea. Put in a map of the US (or whatever country the rider resides in) . Leave it as an outline so the owner can color in the states (provinces, countries, etc) they have ridden in...

All I'm saying, is that no one knew about this unless they read this thread and apparently only 12 people voted.

Re-run the poll after the mods send out a note to everybody in PM letting them know that something big is trying to be put together might get some more good ideas for submission?

Getting another forum involved actually might be too big. Could turn into a forum war depending on personalities that get involved.

It's kind of one way or the other. Either way could work or fail. Build it and they will come or get more people involved up front to have more mommentum from the start.

Now, just my very personal opinion of just me, is I would prefer the opportunity to vote on a different name besides Rabble Rousers, IMO.

AFAIK, the mods don't have a way of sending everyone a PM at one fell swoop. And we aren't going to do it piecemeal! I have no problem with the poll. It had many more views than votes, probably because many folks didn't care enough to vote.

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!

I like the one with the bird and flames too!

The thing about the name Rabble Rouser is it's "negative" term; I'd rather the name be something more positive. The occupy wall street people are Rabble Rousers. The definition of Rabble Rousers is low-class people stirring up violence.

Many outlaw bike gangs have given motorcycles a negative impression in general. I'd like to be associated with a positive group and be a positive influence on motorcycles.

Rebels don't have to be bad guys. Think Rebel Alliance in Star Wars. LOL

BTW, that's not my tattoo. Just a pic I found on a google search.

If it so happened that people liked the "Rebel Alliance" idea, one benefit is that stickers and patches are already made and available. If you put one of those emblems on your motorcycle jacket or a sticker on your helmet, it would become of the new meaning that you ride a Honda Rebel and are part of the "Rebel Alliance".
