Angry problems after installing drag bars

I recently changed my handle bars on my 1986 honda rebel custom classic deluxe to drag bars. Now when i turn my handle bars to the right, my bike dies. what is the problem here?

Unless you shortened the cables and control lines, they may be binding somewhere. Have someone hold the bike and turn the handlebars. Look to see if the choke or throttle cables are pinched or moving the carb controls. It's also possible that a wire is binding/pinching and killing the bike.

I bet it's your choke cable that is getting pinched.

One of my buds swapped out his bars and had the exact same problem.....turned out that it was a pinched wire as "flitecontrol" mentioned.......For him, it was a matter of checking each wire to find which one was causing the problem.

With the covering on these Rebs housing numerous wires, sometimes one can start the bike, leave it idling and go along each harness, pinching the harness inch by inch to see if the bike shuts down. If it works, at least it can narrow it down for you......It could also be a loose wiring connection in one of the handlebar switch housings that might have gotten pulled a bit to hard during the bar swap-out......

My neutral light never worked, until some one looking at it said the cable was pinched. So a pinched cable could definitely be the problem.

Choke cable. That's what happened with my stock bar, it was binding right out of the gate.
