DON'T! That gold you are refering to is because it is a limited edition. Do some checking on the VIN to be sure before you hack it up.
sorry, you'll hve to try and reload your picture, there was something wrong with the link.

I'm with Cagie. Don't cut up a nice Limited.

With a limited don't cut it up unless it is missing a lot of the decals. I picked up a 250 years ago that was once a limited but someone had taken all the decals off of it and the only things left were the valve cover and chrome front forks. I also got a limited that was in great shape and it drew a lot of attention wherever I went. I really wish I hadn't sold it.
If your limited is in this type of shape it really doesn't matter but if it is in nice shape with the decals and all the chrome and gold still on it, it would be a shame to mess with it.
You might be able to trade with someone or sell it and pick up another bike to chop. The limited are getting more rare than the 450's.
That's my opinion anyway.

I have checked into the VIN and also the Model and it is the 86 limited and its in pretty good shape, it does have a branded title i dont know why, there is a scratch on gas tank and the mirrors and grips have been changed.. The Rebel Decals on tank have been removed though.. Also A tiny oil leak is coming from the Clutch Area, the guy i bought it from said he switch the gasket but did not clean the area first so i assume the leak is cause of a high spot in the gasket allowing minor oil to leak out.. I would love to trade it or sale for a bobber. I know nothing about the bike, other then the gold it looks the same and is there anything else that makes it worth more..

Gold trim, gold valve cover, chromed engine cases, chromed fork sliders, and limited/deluxe edition decals. Model number CMX250CD
That's about it. the differences are purely cosmetic. They are not worth more, per se but they are unusual particularly in good to excellent condition.
It shouldn't have had a Rebel decal on the tank. Back then they used the "Honda wings".

That makes sense about the wings on the tank, i looked at photos of every year the rebel came out and i believe that it was a different tank from a newer rebel. The Decal said REBEL and the Tank is Black and Silver on the Sides. Ya Thats the model CMX250CD.. So with the newer tank, it kinda takes the heart outta the limited edition..

It looks really nice and I'd say about 90 percent correct.
